We would like to invite you to the Bristol Regional Environmental Records Centre (BRERC) free Wildlife Recorders Forum event on Sunday the 6th of October at M-Shed.
The theme for the day will be based around the 'State of Nature in the West of England', a report that has been produced by BRERC and is about to be published.
In addition to displays and a quiz there will be a light-hearted presentation on how a record goes through our systems and ends up being used globally, and a discussion on where/how wildlife records should be sent (currently a wide array of choices).
There will be an explanation of how the BRERC Data Modelling Tool was used to produce the state of the environment reporting and we will be demonstrating a new digital tool we have developed that cleans, reformats and instantly processes hundreds of thousands of iNaturalist app records.
The event will be an opportunity to hear from local recording and community groups regarding their projects and aspirations as well showcasing how their efforts contribute to local conservation efforts.
We are providing tea, coffee and biscuits but are unable to provide lunch. There is an excellent cafe in the museum as well as others in the locality. You are also welcome to bring your own.
