Standard Data Search (Commercial)


The following sets out the data supplied for a typical data search with 0.5 km buffer (although larger search buffers can be easily provided). For this, the enquirer can expect the following to be provided:

Computer Search Components

Printed GIS maps showing Notable Species Records, statutory and non-statutory Designated sites (SNCI (Known as Wildlife Sites in North Somerset), RIGS, LNR, SSSI, SPAs RAMSAR and SAC) and Phase 1 Data, UK Priority Habitat, Strategic Nature Areas and maps of any hedges, ponds and veteran trees which have been surveyed in relation to the enquirers search area and buffer (also shown).

Detailed lists of notable species recorded in the search area - 4 Figure, 6 Figure, 8 Figure and 10 Figure Grid References

Survey details of hedges, ponds and veteran trees which may exist for your enquiry area.

Example Spreadsheet - although only six records are shown, the average enquiry will show 200+ notable species records.

Site descriptions of designated sites, where available.

An indication as to whether confidential data is present in your search area (see What BRERC Cannot Provide).


Paper Search Components

Search of Biological Location Information Site System (BLISS) for reports/surveys.

Surveys (relevant to your site and type of data search) photocopied, collated and processed to be included with data sent.


Extra Search Components (These can be added at extra cost if required)

Non-Notable Species Records (Map and spreadsheet data).

Extended searches for specific species or groups, eg: Bats

Geological Sites

Other possible relevant electronic and digital datasets can also be searched, for example River Corridor Surveys, archived data, etc.
