Can I download any data from your website?
At present none of our data holdings are available to download via this website. This is due to technical and data protection issues, together with a lack of funding to carry out such work.
It is our aspiration to make all appropriate data available from our website, and we are carefully and diligently working towards this. Already available in our Downloads section is a vast amount of metadata. Currently this is in spreadsheet format and only contains a partial list of our data holdings.
The recommended method of submitting a data request to BRERC is to follow the procedure in our Data Enquiry section.
I find it difficult to read the text on your website - what can I do?
The BRERC website has been designed to enable users to change it's look and feel with great ease. Clicking on the 'View" menu then "Text Size" in both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox will allow you to increase or decrease the size of all text on our website. If you have further comments regarding accessibility, please contact us to discuss these.
Why have a website?
We believe it is an excellent vehicle for conveying all sorts of information to a wide range of individuals. As well as having informative pages about how to submit records, enquiries and inform the user about BRERC, it is also useful for posting information about upcoming events and any items we may not have space for in our newsletter.
Where do you get all your pictures?
The photographs on the website come from a variety of sources. Most are copyrighted to their respective owners. If you wish to use the photographs, then please contact BRERC before doing so. All pictures are saved as fairly low quality images which load quickly and display well on screen, but which are noticeably poor if printed or saved.
Who designs the BRERC website?
BRERC’s website is designed in house by staff at BRERC. The design of pages, logos and related graphics are undertaken by staff with years of experience of html and web design through a variety of sources.
The actual design of the site has been implemented according to health and safety guidelines. The look of the site, and its underlying design work, has been kept purposefully simple to enable anybody who can access the internet to see the site and get the best from it.
How often do you update the site?
Depending on staff commitments, as often as we have new material! The beauty of the website is that it can take as little as five minutes to have an article published to the web. We are always keen to publish new articles, photographs or anything people may wish to contribute.
I notice a problem on the site. What do I do?
